My leadership group had discussed this, and I found it useful. I've come to accept that my work is like planting an oak tree. I won't live to see it fully grown.

Keep planting acorns, Beth.

Beth,

You are one of a kind! We are so happy that you came into our lives.

Take care of # 1 first, always!

Dear Beth, I hope your existential hidey hole turns out to have a secret door to some place wonderful - although you've already got that covered with the waterfall and your daughter and friend. For someone who has already steered her life toward purpose and authenticity, you might just be ahead of the crowd when it comes to living deeply. Is it possible that you've logged 60 years of quality living in a mere 50? Might as well spend more time at the waterfall contemplating it. ;-)

Beth, if this is a sample of your writing, I can't wait to read your book! So beautiful, such vulnerability.

First, as someone turning 48, I get it. Second, you can do it. Also, you are already doing it.

I turned 50 in January and I can say I've never felt anxiety about life like I have this year after my 50 day. You will get through it and shine brighter on the other side.

Beth, I fight similar feelings and had a bad time a few years ago when I turned 40. All I can offer are echoes of what others have already said. You can do this. Keep writing!
