Does the public even realize this is their tax dollars the state is spending on things that are not happening? I am outraged about this. Why isn’t the public understanding this?

There’s a dire need for immediate massive overhaul. I can imagine where the resistance is coming from. DoJ should steamroll this.

OMG Beth, the DOJ referring bereaved family members to you to unravel the mystery of their child's death in prison is just too much. I know you're up to the task, but good grief. Just imagine what magic you could work with the DOJ's budget and resources behind you. What a profoundly upside down world we're in.

> “I got your name from the DOJ,” he said. “They said you might be able to help me.”

Wow, amazing.

Ask the DOJ if you can bill them for doing their job for them. Although it is the Alabama's Dept of Corrections job you are doing. Start sending them invoices. They are so disorganized someone might just mistakenly start paying them.

Really appreciate all the work you are doing to bring this disgusting and inhûmane treatment to light. Understand and respect your outrage. Stepping back, would you have patience to explain why DOJ has waited over 4 years from filing in 2020 till November 2024 for a trial date, especially as negotiations have apparently broken down ? Do DOJ have other remedies other than negotiation in the interim ?
