Looking for hope in a dark world

Hello dear readers,

I’m holding off on my usual Sunday news roundup this week.

I just can’t. My heart feels sick, bereft. I’ve had racing thoughts and nightmares. I can’t sleep and yet I’m so, so tired.

Every time I’ve tried to put my thoughts and outrage into words, intention is replaced with paralysis. I go numb.

This week’s injustice just feels, right now, like too much to bear.

I was steadfast in my news collection this week, so if anyone really, really wants a document with all the news links about Alabama’s grotesque execution of Kenneth Smith, let me know and I’ll send it to you.

I’m going to continue to look for beauty and hope, because we have to hope that we can help build a more just and loving world.
